So last week I was taking out the trash behind the restaurant where I work in Catskill, totally iced over back there even though they knew it was a problem. Ended up twisting my back pretty bad and I've been out for a few days now. My boss is acting like it's no big deal and told me to just use my sick days, but I've got a feeling they're trying to avoid any responsibility. A buddy told me I should at least talk to a workers comp lawyer Catskill NY before I sign anything or go back, but I honestly don't know if my injury is serious enough to make a big deal out of it. Has anyone here gone through something similar? I'm not trying to start drama at work, but I also can't afford to miss a paycheck if my back gets worse. Found a local firm's site that seemed helpful, but I'm still on the fence about actually reaching out. Any advice from people who've been there would be awesome.
