Right so the little brake pad warning light decided to pop up on the dash of my 2018 S5 just as I was merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road yesterday morning and even though I knew the pads were getting a bit thin it still gave me that little jolt of annoyance because you just know it's going to spiral into a whole conversation about "well while we're in there the rotors have a slight lip and your brake fluid is looking a bit dark mate" and suddenly a simple pad slap turns into a four thousand dirham afternoon. I've been ringing around a few places this morning and the range of quotes is honestly laughable, one garage in Deira said they'd do it for next to nothing with some brand I've never heard of that sounds like it came from a cereal box and another spot near JLT wanted almost dealership money but promised it would feel like factory fresh which I guess is nice if you're made of cash. My usual mechanic is good with the Japanese cars but he sort of sucked his teeth when I mentioned the electronic parking brake and the need to cycle the rear caliper pistons with a scan tool so I'm thinking I should just find someone who deals with these Germans day in and day out rather than watching someone sweat over YouTube tutorials while my car's on the lift. Been trying to track down actual Audi brake pad replacement specialists UAE that aren't just general workshops with a fancy Instagram page because I want someone who knows the difference between the PR codes and won't strip the wear sensor connector like the last guy did on my old A4, any of you got a solid recommendation for a place that won't make me feel like I'm negotiating a hostage situation just to get some Textar or Jurid pads fitted and the light cleared properly?
